Bacon-Wrapped Brown Sugar Smokies

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven
    Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with foil and place a wire rack on top (optional but helps crisp the bacon).

  2. Prepare the bacon
    Cut bacon slices into thirds.

  3. Wrap the sausages
    Wrap each sausage with a piece of bacon and secure with a toothpick.

  4. Coat with sugar
    Roll each wrapped sausage in brown sugar and place seam-side down on the baking sheet. Sprinkle with pepper or cayenne if using.

  5. Bake
    Bake 25–30 minutes, turning once, until bacon is crispy and sugar is caramelized.

  6. Serve
    Let cool slightly (they’ll be molten-hot!) and serve warm. Watch them vanish.
