CREAMY BAKED MACARONI AND CHEESE

Instructions

  1. Cook the pasta
    Boil macaroni in salted water until just al dente. Drain and set aside.

  2. Make the cheese sauce
    In a large saucepan, melt butter over medium heat.
    Whisk in flour and cook 1 minute.
    Gradually whisk in warm milk, stirring constantly until thickened.

  3. Add the cheese
    Lower heat and stir in cheddar, mozzarella, and Parmesan until melted and smooth.
    Season with salt, pepper, and paprika.

  4. Combine
    Stir cooked macaroni into the cheese sauce until fully coated.

  5. Bake
    Pour into a greased baking dish.
    Top with buttered breadcrumbs if using.
    Bake at 350°F / 175°C for 25–30 minutes until bubbly and lightly golden.

  6. Serve
    Let rest 5 minutes before serving.
