Italian Sausage with Peppers and Onions

Ingredients

  • 4–6 Italian sausages (sweet or hot)

  • 2 tbsp olive oil

  • 2 bell peppers (red, yellow, or green), sliced

  • 1 large onion, sliced

  • 2 cloves garlic, minced

  • Salt and black pepper

  • ½ tsp dried oregano or Italian seasoning

  • Optional: crushed red pepper flakes

  • Optional: ½ cup tomato sauce or crushed tomatoes
