NANA’S CLASSIC SWEET POTATO CASSEROLE

Instructions

  1. Cook the sweet potatoes
    Boil sweet potatoes in salted water until fork-tender, about 15–20 minutes. Drain well.

  2. Make the filling
    Mash sweet potatoes until smooth.
    Stir in sugar, milk, eggs, melted butter, vanilla, and salt until fully combined.

  3. Assemble
    Spread the sweet potato mixture into a greased 9×13-inch baking dish.

  4. Make the topping
    In a bowl, mix brown sugar, flour, melted butter, and pecans until crumbly.
    Sprinkle evenly over the sweet potatoes.

  5. Bake
    Bake at 350°F / 175°C for 30–35 minutes, until the topping is golden and the edges are set.
