SALISBURY STEAK WITH MUSHROOM GRAVY

Instructions

  1. Make the patties
    In a bowl, mix ground beef, breadcrumbs, egg, Worcestershire, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper.
    Shape into oval patties.

  2. Brown the steaks
    Heat oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
    Cook patties 3–4 minutes per side until browned. Remove and set aside.

  3. Make the gravy
    In the same skillet, melt butter. Add mushrooms and onions and cook until soft and golden.
    Sprinkle in flour and stir for 1 minute.
    Slowly whisk in beef broth and Worcestershire sauce.

  4. Simmer
    Return patties to the skillet.
    Reduce heat and simmer 15 minutes until gravy thickens and patties are cooked through.

  5. Serve hot
    Spoon plenty of gravy over the steaks.
